Have recently been inundated with emails laden with viruses> have tried contacting ISP but so far results have not been there. NAV catches all and recent download of Synmantec app to check for infection proved nothing infected, just a pain. I'm wondering if something is using my computer to send info. Here is my list of of Outpost 1.1 approved/blocked/etc apps:

    Blocked:

    LSASS.EXE
    SVCHOST.EXE

    Partially Allowed:

IEEXPLORE.EXE (Internet Explorer 6.x, all updates applied)
    MSIMN.EXE (Outlook Express as newsreader)
    EXPLORER.EXE (for FTP, unchecked typically)
    SERVICES.EXE (for ISP connection)
    MSACCESS.EXE (http, LDAP, email)

    Trusted:

    AUPDRUN.EXE (agnitum outpost update)
    LUCOMS~.EXE (Symantec Live Update)
    NAVAPW32.EXE (Norton Anti-Virus)
    UPDATE.EXE (tds-3 worm software update)
    WSFTP32.EXE (ftp application)
    WUAUCLT.EXE (MS update)
    MBSA.EXE (MS Baseline Security Analyzer)
    TL.EXE (Ebay's turbo lister)
    PROXOMITRON.EXE (proxy server software)
    SPYBOTSD.EXE (spyware software)

Have Port Explorer but not anywhere near understood how to utilize. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I get upwards of 100 emails a day most of which are SPAM, I use Mailwasher & clean the spam on my ISP's servers. It has a Blacklist, friends list & bounce facility, well worth a try.
PE can show all the connections outbound from your PC and stop them if necessary.
The help file is very comprhensive & worth a good read to familiarise yourself to all of PE's capabilities.

The problem of emails may not be in your hands. Your address is likely being obtained from email addresses on other infected machines on the net.
