Would appreciate some advise on how to remove true image from my system and clear it's remanants from my D drive.
Just purchased this program two days ago. Have had nothing but touble with it and after reading all of the post on this site I just don't have the time to bother trying to fine tune it.

I can only hope that one day there will be a truly trouble free backup system that works for everyone.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Nick

The uninstall should be sufficient to remove TrueImage.

If you describe the problems you had, you'll find a group here willing to help you resolve them. TrueImage is as close to a problem free backup solution as I've found, and I've looked at many options.

Ran the uninstall and removed true image from system but....my D: drive is still showing that I only have 67 GB on my 111 GB drive.
How do I remove the hidden true image sector and restore my drive to pre-drive image condition?

There must be a work around for this....I can't imagine any company selling us software that would change the hard drives and not be able to revert them back.

    Any help apreciated.

I have found everyone here very helpful but look at my post which is just above yours (at the moment anyway),

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=74687

My answer will be your answer and vice versa.

BTW - there may be no alternative but to try and get Acronis working.

    Ghost 9 is very problematical.

Drive Image versions prior to that don't work with ntfs

    whose left ?

    regards and good luck,

    Mike

    Hello Nick,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please install Acronis True Image and choose "Manage Acronis Secure Zone" tool. Choose "Delete Acronis Secure Zone" if you have one. If you don't have it installed please create it and choose none of your disks to get the space for Acronis Secure Zone from. After that please choose maximum size available and after Acronis Secure Zone is created please remove it with "Manage Acronis Secure Zone" tool.

    This should solve the problem.

    Thank you.

Have been unable to create Acronis Secure Zone.

During create process following message: Unable to write Disk 2 Sector 0.
    Retry,Ignore, Ignore All?

After selecting Ignore, True Image goes through all three steps and then on boot up the following message pops up on desktop "Failed to Create Acronis Secure Zone"

I went into tools but since there isn't a Secure zone there isn't an option to remove it. But....Windows is still showing that my D: drive is less than it should be.

What is the possibility of say low level formating the drive?

I would like to get this program to run but considering the little that I payed for it I'm willing to just let it go as long as I can return my D: drive to its original Pre-True Image condition.

Having the ability to recover from a major problem, is important to me but realistically I can see it taking me more time to work out the problems with True Image than it would be to reinstall all of the software on my C: drive.

    Thanks,

    Nick

I got mine back by deleting the Norton protected files - don't know if you use the Norton recycle bin or not ?

    Mike,

I do run Norton antivirus and norton internet security.

How do I check in Norton for the bin?

    Thanks,

    Nick
