Yes it is something to worry about.

But it seems your security software has neutralized the threat.

I recommend you scan your PC with an on-demand scanner like PrevX, SAS, or MBAM.

Then scan your PC with HijackThis BETA.

    Fake AV ?
That may suggest you have rogue security software. I don't know the best way to remove it. Maybe MBAM can do it.

About the other one (not sure if is related to Fake Av):

NIS cannot find it by means of a on-demand scan ?

You could also try the Avira rescue CD (http://www.avira.com/en/company_news/rescue_cd_.html) and the Dr Web LiveCD (http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/?lng=en)
Of course, download it on a clean computer and then burn the CD(s).

The advantage of this is that the malware cannot interact with the security software.

Out of interest what else are you running on that box ?
I recall some episodes in the past where NIS was "scanning itself" relating to other 'anti' apps

Try netstat -b to look for open ports and running apps ??
( me always at risk of getting egg on face)

    Or go with JRV's advice
