Popuppers.com and advnt01.com have me bumfuzzled as to how to escape their clutches. I run AdAware and Spybot regularly and search for updates every time, but they aren't handling this problem. After reading some on this forum, I've added CWShredder, but it, too, has not stopped these persistant browser hijacks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's wonderful that a forum like this exists. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me.

Your advice would seem to have done the trick. I'm happy as a clam. Thank you, very much, Pieter. You're my new hero.

I've run another HJT scan, and am posting it here, just in case. When you have a chance, check it out and see if I'm clean now. I followed the advice in the FAQ and have installed CWShredder, Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard to prevent further infections, hopefully. Any other hints or advice of which I should be aware? Thanks again for your help.

One little problem now. After downloading the new spyware prevention programs and making recommended changes to my browser and Internet options, I can no longer download anything by right-clicking and choosing "Save Target As . . ." I can see that option in the list when I right-click, but it's light in color and doesn't work. I've checked my Internet options and downloads are enabled, and now I'm not sure what I need to do to re-gain this option for downloads. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Yash

Can you try clearing your cache?

IN IE click Tools > Internet-options > General tab > click Delete Files > put a checkmark in the confirmation box to include offline content.

    Regards,

Yes, I had already tried that. I did it again just now, but no change. I still cannot right-click and download anything. "Save Target As" and "Print Target" are still gray, dim and inactive. I also tried de-activating SpyGuard and Spyware Blaster, in case there was something there that was preventing right-click downloads. No change. Still don't know what the problem is. Any other ideas? I can post another HJT logfile if you think that would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Yash
