i made a bonehead mistake yesterday. i dumped a user's outlook.pst into his new profile, then copied his old profile into the new. That means it over wrote (rather than simply deleting) the .pst.

i found what i think is the pst in question with a recovery program. The problem is very little of the file is readable by outlook. It could read that only after running scanpst.exe.

    i'm looking for two things:

A really good file recovery program
A really good .pst recovery program

Free or demo is preferred, but i think i can get the company to pay.

    Please help me!

    Todd

Thank you. i'll test that soon.

Any word on .pst recovery programs? StellarPheonix did OK, but still found only 303MB of 1.4GB. :(

    I concur :thumb:

    TESTDISK + PHOTOREC

I used it on a PartedMagic CD to pull my tail out of a certain defeat into 100% victory, resurrecting 2 deleted partitions. No reason individual files couldn't be rescued either SO LONG AS THEY ARE NOT ENTIRELY OVERWRITTEN by some erase program. I'm not sure how long windows wait before displacing that space with some write though.

Best Of Luck For Some Recovery For You.

We all been there b 4
