I am trying to figure out the best approach at using virtual software in my enviroment. I use Sandboxie but it wont work with my email and DSL. Tzuk is aware and cant duplicate. I love Returnil but the problem is when my daughter plays her games and saves them, of course they are gone on the reboot. I know Power Shadow is the same. Is there one that will allow you to virualize your PC but not have to reboot when someone like my daughter usts wants to play and save. VMware? I am ready to dump my AV and simplify at the same time. thank you

ShadowDefender and ShadowUser Pro allow you to define Excluded Folders within a virtualized volume that are not virtualized. Just exclude locations where games are saved and you should be good to go. Powershadow does something similar via folder relocation at the moment. The excluded folder approach is the most straightforward methodology (and doesn't change anything in the event you uninstall).

    Hi 'trJam' howdy,

You've probably mentioned almost all of the best in VM wares and i can't think of any other... however,

There maybe be a solution or two (nevertheless, needs to dole out some mullahs thou) in your current predicament.

Can you consider buying your daughter his/her own rig o_O If williing, it will only cost you a tad below USD400 (or USD300) for a running rig that has major functions of full-blown machines - Acer's "newest" (url) here ~http://eeepc.asus.com/global/

The benefits in this cute cheapie are... you never had to install an AV either... plus mommy/grandma could use it as well, when kid is at school. Or when you decided to pack your family off for salmon-fishing in Vancouver. ;)

The USD300 rig is a down-sized rig, same OS as Acer's thiough a different OEM ... darn, it just escaped my mind for now. But i shall post back on it.

Running Sandboxie on Verizon DSL and using Thunderbird with no problems here accessing nor saving my emails. Have you tried SafeSpace?
