    Hello Zoe,

    Welcome to Wilders ! :)

Can you please download dllfix file from http://tools.zerosrealm.com/dllfix.exe

Doubleclick it and install in folder of choice but on the root drive, most likely C:\

Now, run start.bat and press option 1 one search will start, let it finish and it will create one file named output.txt in the newly made folder.

Copy and paste the complete contents of output.txt in your next reply.

    With Thanks !
    Newkid !

Thanks, NewKid! I followed the link you gave but found this message there:
"The DLLFix used to fix the new strand of about:blank made by CoolWebSearch has been pulled down by the creator Shadowwar. He claims that there are too many bugs for it to remain public so he has taken the fix down though he assures us that he will be making a new, more stable version soon."
So I can't download dllfix right now. Any other suggestions? Thanks for helping me!

The entry in blue color is optional to fix. These are either typically infrequently used tasks that can be started manually if necessary or a resource hog which isn't necessary for the operation of your system.

Reboot your machine and boot into safe mode by tapping F8 key(8-9 times) at bootup.

This may happen that file is hidden so first unhide the files using following instructions...
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...Virus Corporate Edition&ver=8.x&osv=&osv_lvl=

Search and If present, delete all the following file and folder :

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\qjfavp.exe
    c:\installer\ <--- Entire folder

When you've done that, reboot your machine ; rescan your machine with hijackthis and please post a fresh log..

    With Thanks !

    Hi again,

I realized I made a boo-boo. I accidentally deleted C:\windows\installer instead of C:\installer (which was not present on my computer). As a result of this, the icons for several of my programs (including the MS Office ones - hee hee) have disappeared. Can I get them back without reinstalling my whole OS? Gee, I hope so. Any help on that would be appreciated as well. Thanks so much for your help!
