:) Hello Good People of Wilder

Oops Something I forgot to add ...

    Dear Wilders
I forgot to add to my question to what you suggest as antispyware defense ... you list both Adware and Spybot S&D ( I have used Spybot on my 98 system without a problem)
For my XP system ... is one more preferred over the other? Which is smaller and/or faster to use?

In this case I would use both. In Spybot S&D there should be a setting where it ignores MyWeb, MyWebSearch (or SmileyCentral as you call it) by default.

If you uncheck that it will get rid of it for you.

Post a new log when you are done, because I saw some more cr@p.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Dear Wilders, :)
In reference to my last post, I had a problem with Smiley Central where you advised to install Adware 6 and Spybot S&D. In doing so, I had trouble with Spybot where i kept getting messages after running it and attempting to fix the checked items.
    The messages, were as follows:
    SpybotSD.exe
    -Unable to locate component:
This application has failed to start because msjava.dll was not found. Re-installing the app may fix this problem.
    -Bad Image:
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\wt\webdriver.dll is not a valid WINDOWS image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
    -Unable to locate component:
This application has failed to start because WDENGINE.dll was not found. Reinstalling the app. may fix this problem.

Also,Adware6 made it impossible for me to access my AIM instant message (I have Pyboticide).

I uninstalled both and re installed only Spybot S&D and received the same above messages.

I also ran a Housecall scan and found a BYTEVER.A bug. The Housecall scan(initial run) said the files were uncleanable(?) that the application was in use and could not access the files. The same thing occurred when I ran it offline.

I installed AVG and it came out clean ... nothing detected.

Here is my most current HijackLog

I am more concern with BYTEVER.A :doubt: than Smiley Central but I'd like to clean my system of any unnecessary fillers and/or garbage.

Thanks so much to all you at Wilders ... you have no idea how great your help is!!! :D
