I have a 40 Inches Full HD Samsung TV.

    1. I download & tried to play a movie (1920*1080) that was saved in USB. But I get format not supported.
It is .mp4. I remuxed the movie with mkvtoolnix i.e the movie was converted to .mkv. But still the same prob. 1280*720 movie plays fine, both .mp4 & .mkv.

    2. Any .mp4 that is more than 2 hours returns back to the start i.e movie folder i.e the movie plays fine till 2 hours then it returns back. If the same movie I convert to .mkv with mkvtoolnix, it plays fine.

    Any info/solution?

Are you using the TV itself to play this? What is the model number?

Bear in mind that MP4 and MKV are merely containers for different codecs. You'll have to find out what codecs the TV can play and its limitations. Sometimes these devices are picky about how files are encoded.

I guess it was encoding prob.
I tried other file & worked fine.

Any way to correct that video without reencoding i.e easy simple way?

    I tried 3 mp4 & 3 mkv movies of 2 hours 30 mins.
    mkv movies worked fine.
Alll the 3 mp4 movies stopped & returned back to the menu. All the movies stops at exactly 2 hours 12 mins 14 secs.
    What could be the prob?
    Any info/solution?
