Since I installed opera 8.01 my comp has really slowed down. I just removed 8.01 and reinstalled 8.0 and have picked the speed back up. there does seems to be a problem with the 8.01 update.

Uhh.... My memory tells me that, last I heard, you were running the latest Netscape. Or is that remembrance just another of my increasingly frequent senior moments?

hmmm...I will slip this one Bell... :D

No slowdowns whatso ever BigC, I cannot feel any difference between 8 en 8.1 here on my machine. I hope it gets solved.
Did you install it over the previous one?

I am having no slowdowns at all either..... If anything this is the smoothest running version I have had of Opera in a while, and quite fast too...

Hurrah I am not the only one with senior moments :D

I am using Opera since a week or two, after one week I liked it. No slow down or whatever after updating.
    Cheers,

    Hi Big...;)
Nope, no slowdown whatsoever, but I got Opera 8.01 to crash three times over a period of two days (well, yeah, it got to slow me down a bit, so I may have to change my answer to "yup" ;) )... which never happened with version 8.0.
Back to 8.0 too, which runs as smoothly as ever.

I appreciate the replies. I found the problem but I won't go into what was causing it,I don't want to start an av war. ;)

I run four different browsers just to break up the monotony but opera is my default.

We ought to start a Wilders Lottery. The person who correctly guesses what combination of AV and Browser that BigC is using on any given week should win something. :D

The odds are against anyone ever guessing the correct combo. I have had three different av's just today ;)

I think firefox 1.1 will be great. Although i am using opera 8.01 now i am only 70% ok with it. There is 2 - 3 extremely annoying bug which they can't identify.

8.0 was the last final and 8.01 is actually a product bug fix update. ;)
