Last night my PC started playing up, I used the "Refresh your PC without affecting your files" option. Having done this I no longer have Truecrypt installed. The hard drive is permanently backed to to "WD Mypassport" and I have and encrypted area in dropbox.
Can I install a fresh copy of Truecrypt and then use my existing password to access these files or have I lost access to the encrypted data?
Needless to say I need to have access to the encrypted files.

I went ahead and installed Truecrypt. I have full access to my files. That is a huge weight of my mind.

Truecrypt is not Microsoft EFS encryption so as long as you have your encrypted container, you are always fine. Even you completely formated your disk and reinstall a new OS, then install TC, it should still work on your old TC containers. Even if you switched your OS to Linux you can still use a Linux version of TC to open your TC container.
