I backed up my windows XP system onto a big old USB drive. Compter crashed. I did recovery and was going to reinstall paragon application and use back up image to fully restore. i am missing a supplemental recovery disc so cannt restore and so canot add (now gone) Paragon application, so, now cannot use my stored arc_ image.

how can i use this lap top and stored arc_ back up file and somehow replace that image back onto my desktop? I am able to get to desktop on it but only in safe mode which did not allow paragon.exe to be relaced onto it.

    Used Kaspersky PURE.
    thanks

You can install paragon on a different computer and create a "bootable rescue cd" and then use the cd to boot from on your laptop and then you can use it to recover your pc.

Thanks- I was actually just reading about that. I'm a lil' overwhelmed by all the different versions and the depth of functionality. Am I right if I download Backup and Restore 10 again, thet will give me the option of creating a boot disc as you described?

    Anyone?

    Thanks

    Hi

Update- I installed on my laptop and created boot cd for Paragon Backup 10. I run it and run Simple Restore Wizard. It searches hard drives for a file to restore, yet my image (arc_ file) is on my external USB drive. Browse does not show the USB drive either... how can I get Paragon to recognize USB to find image restore file there?

    Thanks

Just take the big old USB drive out of the USB box and plug it into your dead desktop computer, then the boot cd for Paragon Backup 10 will see the backed image.
