I've been having an issue with my hard drive lately. It keeps restarting on me but my system stays up and functional (after the hard drive restarts and allows reading/writing). Every time that happened I would just restart and take the drive out of its bay. But then today I started hearing clicking sounds coiming from the drive and it won't boot up anymore. Has anyone ever had this happen? If there any way to get data off of that drive? Any ideas? Thanks.

Once you hear clicking on a drive and it fails to boot it has pretty much had its days, you can try an old tech trick; place it in your freezer for 30 minutes and then reinstall it into your system, this works on some occasions. If this does work you can have anything from a few minutes running to around 30 minutes or more, so you get copying as fast as possible to another drive.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know how you go...

    Cheers :D
