Google Won't Use Artificial Intelligence for Weapons June 7, 2018 https://www.securityweek.com/google-wont-use-artificial-intelligence-weapons
"....Chief executive Sundar Pichai, in a blog post outlining the company's artificial intelligence policies, noted that even though Google won't use AI for weapons...." Who here at Wilders believes this?
It's doesn't matter what any executive says, if the technology is there, it WILL be used for less proper things, that's just the logic of progress.
Means nothing. You can be sure the rest of the tech industry started drooling when Google announced they were turning down the military contracts to do it and it's not as if weaponizing AI requires Google to do it as GoogleWeapons or GoogleTerminators. As long as they continue developing the basic building blocks, the machine learning, the facial recognition etc anyone who wants to invest in outfitting weapons systems, such as weaponized drones with AI, will do so if they haven't already. I'll bet they are already testing them. I can imagine the conversation. "Just let it fly and look for people we want dead. If it kills the wrong one so what? They were probably a terrorist."

"....the principles as stated in this initial blog post will have to be adapted to the rapidly changing technological and societal environment...." I like this one best. The change: people get more & more narced out on tech, real world isolation & losing compassion & empathy for others.
