    Hi everyone,
For some reasons, my Google Toolbar for IE8 vanished and I wanted to download it and instal it again. I have NOD32 v4 4.0.417.0 w/default settings on XP Pro SP3 Desktop and it wouldn't let me download.
The messege is: "probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan.....connection terminated - quarantined"
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Jedi_m

Why not? Is there an old one? I didn't see it on NOD32 Antivirus forum.
But elapsed, any idea, it this a false positive, should I wait, or should I desable NOD and instal the Google Toolbar anyway?
    Thanks,

OK than I'll wait until Monday. Google Toolbar it's quite common to use and I taught it's an old issue and somebody will post a clear answer. I did install and uninstall last year (while I had IE7 and NOD32 v3) couple of times Google Toolbar without problems. I did the same at work after clean install Win XP on couple of PC's, I installed the Toolbar with no problems.

    Thanks

Maybe you've enabled potentially unwanted applications and potentially unsafe applications in real-time file system protection.
If so, then uncheck them and try to download google toolbar again.

    SOLVED:D
After trying many times last night and today, I don't know how, but at 9:50 p.m. today, it went thru without beying stoped by NOD.
I downloaded and install it again. It was NOD or Google issue, I have no clue?

I'm sure the reason are the update from Eset today, but the file take very long to scan though. If i move the file from one folder to another on my computer it takes several seconds while nod32 is enabled and less then a second when nod32 is disabled. Also during the scan ekrn.exe use a lot of CPU. I've seen this for a lot of installation packages lately.

Damn! I though ESET finally made it and started to detect (proactively) this crappy toolbar ... :D :D :D
