Does someone know the port that gtalk uses, or a rule that will allow gtalk to connect to the internet. thanks!!!
Hi Zak Gtalk used the XMPP (5222, 5223) + the standard ports 80 (Http) and 443(HttpS) ... Normally all these ports are managed by the general rule "Allow most common Internet applications"... Here I give you a specific rule for the XMPP ports and Gtalk. These ports will be checked by the specific rule, the other 80 and 443 by the general rule... See the idea ? 1- Rename the rule by removing the .TXT 2- Import that rule in LNS 3- Put this rule for XMPP just before the general rule "Allow common Internet applications" 4- click on the rule to edit and click on "applications..." button to add Gtalk program in it... save, ok. 5- check the first column of this rule to enabled it 6- Save and apply reboot, Try Gtalk.
Hi Zak Launch Gtalk and LNS will ask you if you authorised it... Or, go to the Application filter and add the application manually. Gtalk is there: "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe"
