This would have been a ridiculous deal, how the heck are you going to pay $23 billion for a company that makes $500 million a year. I also wonder how on earth Wiz was able to produce this amount of revenue in only 4 years, impressive because there is so much competition. BTW, recently Fortinet bought Lacework (competitor of Wiz) probably for about $200 million, and Lacework has a revenue of about $100 million, go figure.

Well, they decided to buy Wiz for an even higher price, namely $32 billion. This has to be the dumbest deal in history, how the hell are you going to pay so much for a company with $1 billion in revenue. A price of $10 to $15 billion would have made more sense. Everyone involved in this deal should be ashamed of themselves, and then I'm talking about the people working at Alphabet/Google of course. o_O

They don't. They simply were desparate, because Microsoft, Amazon have a way bigger cloud business. And they think Wiz might help to bring in many more cloud customers, but I doubt they will make a return on investment, they simply paid way too much. Like I said, last year Fortinet paid only $200 million for Lacework which has a revenue of $175 million, so about a fifth of Wiz's revenue.
