My status: You are currently using 365 MB (23%) of your 1576 MB.
It's not 2 GB, but Gmail will add 1 GB for free soon, but for the moment, they gave me 500 MG!

Of course, computers scan your email messages and serve up ads that have to do with whatever your email is about. I think it's creepy, but the service itself is quite good.

  19. Let's be realistic. Unless you're using it as a backup location for files, whether they give you 1, 2, 3, 4 or 40GB of space on the email server is beside the point for 99.999% of the people. It's called a MARKETING PLOY. At, say, 20kb each (an average email size) that would be about 51 emails per megabyte, or over 52,000 emails per gigabyte. At 2GB, were' talking over 105,000 emails. Cheap marketing ploy, and Yahoo knows it must take the bait as they are doing the same in response. The "invitation" method Google has used, making it seem scarce and exclusive, is also a crass marketing ploy. Google is good at this, all the while serving up ads directed at you based on the content of your emails. We accept this and even cheer them on? On a security board with privacy forums? Google should be ashamed at how they have marketed Gmail and the gullibility of people who accept their emails being scanned so as to have targeted ads based on content waiting for them. Yea for Google! 2GB! Ain't that just cool. Marketing, marketing and more marketing while they sit back and laugh at people actually excited for being bumped from 1GB to 2. PUHLEASEEE.

I am realistic and share not your opinion.

I think, you only see negative and black, I see the positive.

And, don't forget, till yet I have not received any spam and/or unwanted email on my 7 gmail-accounts, so what is the real problem?

  21. Then be happy with GMail because of the spam issue, not for this phony 1-2GB increase, that's just plain silly. That's all YOU have been writing about, Smokey! The spam issue is a good one to promote for GMail, but to say you look at the "positive" rather than the "negative," is like a form of denial. It's like getting excited about a car that gets 75 miles to the gallon, but then tracks your every move and reports it to the automakers headquarters so they can give you an ad on the dashboard for a home repair shop because they know that's where you were yesterday at 7:33 AM. Would you still say LOOK AT THE POSITIVE? The ads directed at you because of the scanning of your email content is despicable and should be roundly criticized here at Wilders, imo. I agree, the service is good. But it is fatally flawed with its creepy intelligence missions to send targeted ads your way. Of all places, I wouldn't expect to see yippity doo dah posts about 2GB of space when they so blatantly compromise your privacy. It's another step toward who knows what? They see people not giving a whit about this, so they'll kick it up a level next time. Maybe, they'll give you intimate "tips" if you argue via email with your girlfriend about sex. Anything is possible after people seem willing to accept this current invasion of privacy. Not just accept it, but be GIDDY over the phony 1GB increase marketing ploy.

For sure, when you have reached 10.000 MB!

But the 10.000 MB-limit is only for the very first gmail-accounts, that means for those persons who signed in the first week Gmail was on this planet (is told me by a Google manager)
