Google Pitches Online TV Service to Media Companies

    That's what they said to Android and to a lesser extent Chrome. They could always buy competition like YouTube in the end anyways.

    Google already owns Youtube.

    I guess the difference is that this (what it sounds like) will be a traditional Live TV service but over the internet, unlike Hulu or Netflix that are VOD services. But you say Hulu Plus so it must be something else than normal Hulu.

    Not that I see a need for this service, unless they get a fantastic channel package to a fantastic price. But they got a long way to go in any case as I see it, but we'll see, so far it's just a "pitch" to the companies. But competition is good. :)

    YouTube was an example of their capabilities. I never said or implied anything about YouTube being independent.

    Simply said, it's never too late, especially for Google.
