Google.com Would you be lost without it ? This is a good question to ask your self. The really sad part of it is when you realize how much you rely on it for Searching the internet. :doubt:

While I generally use google if it were to disappear it would not be a big problem for me as there are any number of alternatives that could be used for the same purpose if nec.

I agree with that. I have, however, gotten very accustomed to the "labels" feature in gmail - and I'm not sure if there is a similar replacement. It was an adjustment moving to gmail, which I now like very much - so I suppose it would be another adjustment moving away.

Other than missing gmail, life would go on.

I totally rely on Google Search engine. As far as privacy goes, I block any cookies that have the word "google" in them. They still probably know my middle name and the name of my dog though. lol.

Google has become a verb, a multi task cloud mail server, one of the most efficient spam filters, it will let you fly like a bird instantly around the world and more, it is very creative, innovative and free: the internet wouldn't be the same without them, but luckily it won't happen.

I find myself using Google more and more these days, and think the products are well conceived, well thought out, and the search engine is the best. Was reading an article recently about malicious website promotion invading the search hierarchy, and Google was the example of one that kept most of that from happening (Yahoo and Microsoft didn't do so well). Privacy? I ain't got no stinking privacy as a contractor to the US Government. ;)

I haven't thought about Google searching since I tried bing. I even block Google Analytics while using Noscript while using Firefox. :)

I don't use it. I use Copernic and Scroogle.
