I wonder how many people will move to Firefox. I'm hoping the paid version of AdGuard will make it not matter but I haven't researched that yet.
june 2024 is long known. but is complete BS. firefox already can use MV3 extensions and there already exist MV3 extensions on AMO. sadly adguard MV3 is currently not usable because the serviceworker for it is not ready. MV3 is not limited to ad blockers. and MV3 extension will swap over to firefox, but it also happend for MV2 extensions first seen on AMO. or opera, some extensions from opera never were publish for chrome, but for firefox. the max number of entries was not fixed until now. if users may switch, wont bet on this. they may switch ad blocker solution. currently adguard mv3 is best adblocker for mv3. from adguard mv3, this is current state, may change in chromium v121 Code: Regelbeschränkungen Dynamische Regeln Vom Benutzer hinzugefügte Regeln, wie z. I've checked out uBlock Lite and it's really way too basic. I'm going to contact Vivaldi about this, I believe they said they are planning to somehow mitigate this change. And if they can't, then I demand they will beef up their own built-in adblocker, which is currently not that advanced and userfriendly. That's the least they could do. Moving to Firefox is no option for me, because it lacks too many basic built-in features. In other words, it sucks.
One incidental solution for me has been to simply install more memory but that's obviously not universally feasible. Probably, Chrome has become so efficient, fast and the search engine so effective that in general, maybe most people just won't give it up. Just have to play "keep away" from all these efforts to monetize and reduce the quality of my browsing.
