I've got no idea, as I have only used the standalone cleanup tool.

Is this new AV scanner incorporated in the Blink web engine? If so, it would mean that it would be present in all Blink forks (Opera etc.). But I tend to think it is built-up in the Chrome browser itself.

Is this new version of Software Reporter Tool or was there another component added to Chrome?
Also how can it be disabled?

As I posted previously, the Eset engine used is limited to PUP/PUA detection only.

This scan ran this morning on my W7/32 system and immediately consumed 100% CPU at startup, then dropped to around 50% until it finished about 3 minutes later. There were several processes for it opening all at once and there was no notification from Chrome that it was about to start. MBAM and MSE both jumped into action, but went away quickly.

I hope Chrome adds a popup in the future to warn users as to what is happening. I was a bit panicked there for a few seconds. :doubt:o_O

I hate outdated chromium without extensions, however - I don't know if a AV within browser is useful. o_O

I hope it's at least possible to turn it off ...

It prevents me from downloading pictures from Reddit. It seems they released the AV too early.
