I personally like what opera have done and are doing to the browser. Things must change in order to keep up with the times. They have slightly changed the visuals and also increased performance by a very large margin. Still by far the best over all browser to date in my opinion.

Thank you but for some, change is bad, hype is better. Scaring people into changing their browsers is good justification.

I just can't use Opera, it makes me click way more than Firefox. One day I will do an extensive review detailing my experiences.

Yeah...do put it up on the web, post the link here and do remember to use big, dramatic words, like betrayal, crimes of treasons, etc. :p

This is a sad display of respect to someone who merely wrote thier opinion about a peice of software that is no better and no worse than any other in its class.

Afterall, you cannot prove Opera is faster than IE on every machine, only on your machine or test beds. And even then, while it may be technically faster, that does not mean it seems faster in real life.

Remind me not to post anything bad about any software here again, lest I become accussed of heresy.

    Sul.

It sets the default search engine as Google, and the default Speed dial search engine as Ask. Both are just as bad if you ask me... but they are not toolbars.

Couldn't agree more. The level of childishness in this and some of the AV threads is beyond my belief.
One of the best comments was Mrk's that his beloved is his wife, not software. I wish people would grow up and start adopting that viewpoint.
This vitriolic sarcasm is beyond ridiculous.

    To all:

Could we all get a grip? We all have opinions. Thankfully, they tend to be somewhat unique to our personal likes, dislikes, and needs.

When anyone posts an unfavorable opinion of an item I happen to like (or the converse, a favorable opinion on something I don't favor), it provides an opportunity to perform a bit of a reality check on my own assessment. Sometimes I adjust my stance, sometimes my initial impression remains unchanged. However, in either case the additional insights provided are useful.

How about a bit more light, and a little less fire?

    Thanks in advance,

    Blue

May I suggest you attach much less importance to the spewings of fanboyist crackpots.

I can't imagine why anyone would treat them as anything more than a sad joke, let alone fear them.
