I hate Windows Search 4.0, and I have disabled it.

I have found a couple of really good user-friendly free search programs in MasterSeeker and SwiftSearch. But I would like something that searches the registry as well as folders and files. I have a particular interest in thoroughly getting rid of unwanted programs that don't show up on applications like Revo Uninstaller.

    Any suggestions?

Third-party registry editors tend to have better search than regedit, but not as blazing fast as those Everything clones (I prefer UltraSearch). I have virtually no experience outside of regedit, so no personal recommendations.

I've been using RegSeeker for years, with no problems :thumb:

You could try Resplence's Registrar Registry Manager for registry searches. I think it may be free for home use, but I'm not sure (cannot try right now).

The best, and fastest, that I know of though is Torchsoft's Registry Workshop, but it's not free.
