One launcher to rule them all

GOG Galaxy 2.0 isn't just home to GOG games. It allows users to import game libraries, friends lists, and any accompanying metadata from any PC launcher or supported console account into Galaxy's library. It's not just a display case either. Click on any of those games and you'll get a breakdown of all available stats across all platforms. The activity feed shows recent achievements from friends from all platforms.

However, GOG has another, lesser-known unique feature in its repertoire called the Community Wishlist. The Wishlist is effectively a community-powered recommendation system, where players can suggest and vote on games they want GOG to add to its catalog.

To celebrate this major milestone, GOG has launched the "Games Come True" sale, which will run until August 26. In the sale, you'll find over 250 deals; many of which are attached to some of GOG's most-requested games.

After launching in a limited, invite-only beta earlier this year, GOG Galaxy 2.0 is now available to anyone who wants to try it. You can join the open beta by visiting the GOG Galaxy website and downloading the new client on your PC or Mac.

As before, owner CD Projekt says the goal of its app is to unify your disparate game libraries and friends lists in one place. While you'll still need to have launchers like Steam and the Epic Games Store on your computer, GOG Galaxy 2.0 allows you to install and play any games you may have on those platforms using its client.
At the moment, GOG Galaxy 2.0 supports 20 platforms, either officially or through community-made integrations. Some of the bigger ones include Steam, Origin, Uplay and the Epic Games Store.

Interesting stuff, will check it out. Hopefully it's less bloated than Steam and Origin.

The GOG Galaxy 2.0 update will soon be rolling out for all users of the gaming client. The new version has been available in open beta for a while and boasts a whole bunch of nifty new features – and GOG has now announced it’ll be rolling out to replace the current 1.2 Galaxy client “in the coming weeks”.

That’s according to an email sent by GOG to notify Galaxy users of the coming change, which reassures those still using the current version that “your favourite elements are present in the new version”.
Soon, the company says, there’ll also be a games discovery feature that’ll let you “follow upcoming releases, and discover games popular among your friends and the gaming community”.

A while ago, GOG Galaxy 2.0 included the ability to bring all of your libraries into the same window, so you wouldn’t have to stay with a lot of clients opened just to see what games you own.

Well, this was taken a step further today, since GOG representatives just announced that you can use GOG Galaxy to buy Epic games-exclusive titles as well.
However, the most interesting part is that they will be applying their world-famous refund policy to these titles as well:

Most importantly, all purchases are covered by our 30-days refund policy as well as 24/7 human support.
All in all, this change is great news for those that like the idea of having a unified gaming library, and more platform integrations will be expected in the future.
