If the key doesn't exist, copy/paste (make sure you include the blank lines too) the following into notepad, and save it as "helpfix.reg":

    -----Begin cut & paste here----->
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{FC7D9E00-3F9E-11D3-93C0-00C04F72DAF7}\1.0\0\win32]
    @="C:\\WINDOWS\\PCHealth\\HelpCtr\\Binaries\\HelpCtr.exe\\1"

    <------End cut & paste here------

Then double-click the reg file and click yes to merge it into the registry.

    Rita,

You may also be able to shortcut enter that Device Manager dialog box via
a Right click on My Computer - Click on Properties - then, rather than clicking on Device Manager click on the Performance button and it should tell if your machine is,' configured for optimal performance ' or not.

Re. your icons having done a shuffle of their own volition, that occurs, as has been mentioned by these other lads, whenever one goes into 'Safe Mode'
    and back into 'Normal Mode'.
I was having to re-shuffle my 50 desktop icons each time, and was fed up because I often enter,' Safe' to Scan Disk etc.
Then 18 months ago I found this magic little gem called Icon Restore 1.0.
It's tiny, suitable for any Windows sys., is freeware, you never know it's on your machine apart from the fact that it does it's job silently and has two short lines visible with a Right click on My Computer.
    It's available at,
    www.Majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4125

I sound like a salesman so I'll get my coat !

    Good Luck,

    Regards.

    Rita,
    Yes.
Low Water Mark was kind enough to inform me that whenever you click on a quote you must physically\manually remove any of the bits of the quote that you don't want to appear.
Highlighting to include in a post does not work.

Not so easy to highlight and remove, unless of course the quote is long and you are only intending to use a line or two, then it's easy to use highlight\delete, I just use the
back spacer to delete any of the words or lines that I don't require.

But remember not to remove the Tags Rita, at the beginning and end of any quote. They are the word QUOTE and the equals sign and username in brackets at the beginning of each quote, and the word /QUOTE in brackets at the end of the quote.
Your own text must be outside of those two.

    HTH, just say if not.

    Regards.
