To Our Friends From The North, On Their Day Of Giving Thanks. " Remember to eat wisely, but not too well ~ and speak well, but not too wisely!" GF
Thanks to all, and my own wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving to all of us up here. I'm getting old enough that "pigging out" on dinner ain't what it used to be, but it's still a great time. The negative side of all this, locally, is that this weekend was also the start of our Oktoberfest, which used to be (maybe still is) the largest outside of Munich itself. As a cultural event which attracted tourists from all over N. America, it's been dead for 10 or 15 years -- the college kids (2 good-sized universities here) have pretty much taken it over and turned it into a drink-till-you-puke fest. And it doesn't help any that one of the larger halls is almost across the street from us. Best to all, Mike
