There was an offer for Outpost Security Suite Pro on another site that someone posted on here recently but it did not allow updates to the program.

Fired it up in a VM. It is exactly the same file as the Freebiest giveaway and did not update for me.

Might be a VM thing but.........

Installed. Program Upgrade is not available. Its 7.5 & cannot be upgraded to 7.5.1 which is the latest. On XP SP3 it is little slow. System is responding little slow. Didn't liked it. Uninstalling now.

The second time in a week they do that.
    It's not a proper freebie. It's breadcrumbs.

Previously I installed just the firewall and web control which seemed to be an ok setup. The proactive component (whatever it's called) is installed along with the firewall. I don't supposed this would be a bad set up except for one of the bug fixes in the most recent version of Outpost addressed the proactive component not being able to be disabled. If the blacklists of the web control (ads and url's) are updated regularly then maybe this firewall would be ok. But when I had it installed for a short period the program acted as if it was unable to perform updates.

Missing out on the following. It could have been an epic giveaway if prog updates were allowed.
    Code:
    http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/history.php
Outpost Firewall Pro 7.5.1 — Performance Edition (3791.596.1681)
    Release date: July 14, 2011
The following issues have been fixed:

Disabling Proactive protection in Outpost interface could not disable it in fact
Progress bar window was always on top during the procession of quarantine objects
        Several frequent crashes

The following improvements have been made:

Multiple compatibility improvements with third-party products
Improvements in detection, curing, and quarantining archives

FWIW- since this is a direct download link from Agnitum there should be no problems. But Tipradar is a shady site (from my own experience) and I would never recommend anyone installing programs simply based on tipradar's advice. They regularly delete posts that issue warnings of downloads that are from historically suspect companies or companies that have histories of rogue products. Any download from Tipradar should be considered suspicious until proven otherwise.

Another one, how long does this work? Not really interested in learning a new suite though.
