Right now 90% or more posters over there are saying it is slowing there systems to a crawl. RSS veterans are saying every new version keeps getting worse. Better read the posts before you install it!

Very little slowdown on my computer but I'm unable to create a virtual disc.

I like the program. I just wish there was an option to ONLY install the virtual system feature. There is not, sadly. But you can disable the anti-malware functionalities and it'll be light as hell on your computer. But, as I only want 'clean' appications on my computer, I moved on to Shadow Defender.

However, this seems to be a better deal, as it's totally free! Therefore I must recommend it.

Returnil has become 'bloatware' when they decided to turn their software into a 'suite'.

I won't bother downloading this Pro version, since I only use the 'virtualization' part of Returnil Free.

yeah... no longer a good option if you only need virtualization... that real-time antimalware protection is holding it down...

i don't want it even for free, hate you have to install that AM stuff, they don't want to listen that some people just want vitual System Only, i will pay for a version of RN that don't have any AM like the old 2008 version

Instead of loading the native operating system, a clone is loaded that allows you to run your applications and perform your online activities in an entirely isolated environment. In this manner, your actual operating system is never affected by viruses, Trojans, malware and other malicious threats. To return to the actual operating system environment, you just need to restart your PC.

maybe it's just me but i don't see the point of this. o_O

i'd rather use light virtualization like Geswall/Defensewall/Sandboxie and use a system image if push comes to shove.

There is also Returnil Virtual System Lite 2011, without AM, but...
    - it does not leave the Beta stage for unknown reason.
    - Returnil sells this Beta...
    - and it is also sold by FileStream as SafeShield.

Many scream out for it, they have it, but they don't properly offer it.
    Very odd.

    Cheers

Same thing happened to me. The program updated to 2011, but the expiration date didn't change. :(

Also, like the wilder's giveaway, my boot time is at least 3 to 4 times longer. Once we get past that, it's fine. If there's a slowdown, I'm not noticing it. So, I'll just turn on the computer, grab a cup of coffee and a cigarette and, when I come back, I'm ready to go. It's about what I do each morning anyway.

Oops! During the early phases of installing RSS2010, my whole computer screen went black. Not BSOD -- jet black. It was a full shut down. Tried to restart -- then came a BSOD. Of course I had a pre-RSS2010 image, so I am back up & running again. But it was *startling* to say the least.

RSS2010 & my computer? NOT a marriage made in heaven. Your mileage may differ, of course.

    Not for me,period.

Back in the day,I used Returnil 2008 FREE and never had any issues.I then tried their newer programs, yikes, started off with CPU maxing out to 100% and never hardly dropping, uninstalled it and never looked back again.
