What benifits does this offer over imaging solutions?

It's very, very cool. Paragon always seems a step ahead of this stuff. Grab it for free at GAOTD and just play with it. It's pretty special actually.
It has a 78% thumbs up right now which is pretty dern good for the GAOTD crowd.

So far this seems very bloated to me and redundant.

The Migration Tool is basically useless. If you have an image of your OS and you use another imaging utility the Migrate to Another Drive option is redundant. The Adjust OS to New Hardware is also useless.

The Migrate to a Virtual Machine creates a VM file out of your existing OS so it could be useful for testing to see if software is compatible and gets along well without cluttering up your real time OS.

The Disc Copying and Imaging section is also useless just like the Migration Tool. If you have an imaging software its redundant.

It also includes a File Transfer wizard which is also redundant if you have an imaging tool.
