and the story continues well into v5... as still seeing those ghost alerts on the RC W7 64bit SP1 when double clicking the task bar icon. why can this not be ironed out by now when it was introduced by the developers around May 2010?

    Hello,

Could you please post a screen shot so we can see exactly what is occurring with the V5 RC? Thank you.

    Hi,
I got this error. Well I hope so.
You might have disabled tooltip notification and also enabled automatic entering in fullscreen mode or say Gaming mode. ESET does not detect full screen applicatios effectively and goes to Gaming mode now and then even if no fullscreen app is active.

That is why you are getting that notification. Which should be like below

Just a general question, why does Eset have trouble removing qhost? The problem have been there for a long time, but still no fix?

    Hello,

Win32/QHost is a frequently-updated piece of malware—today alone there were two updates to add detection and removal capabilities for new variants as they appear. If you come across a variant which is either not detected or removed properly, please follow the instructions in ESET Knowledgebase Article #141, How to submit virus or potential false positive samples to ESET's labs to submit a sample to ESET's virus lab.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
