Does Firefox have a special directory I can place the flash DLL for it to register flash as a usable plugin? This is mainly to make Firefox portable usable on a machine without flash installed.

You may want to try this -http://www.ehow.com/how_5101944_install-flash-player-firefox-portable.html

    -edit-

If you already got Flash installed on your system (Which I believe you do. :D), you could get the files from C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash

Obviously, you need to make sure which version you're getting (x86 or x64). But, it's more than obvious for you... lol

Download Flash .dll from here and place it in FirefoxPortable/App/Default Data/Plugins if you use the PortableApps.com version

Better to get it straight from the source & extract manually:

Well I copied the flash DLL from SysWOW64 (32bit) into the plugins folder but it wasn't recognized on the non-flash PC at all when I went to view the plugins in Firefox. :(

    Here are my procedures:

    1. install latest 32-bit Flash from FileHippo (both IE and Non-IE versions)

    2. copy NPSWF32.dll from WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

    3. paste it on PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins

I also applied some tweaks to my Portable Firefox to make it stop using/installing Add-ons (Extensions, Plugins, etc) from the local computer. They are described in these links:
