If This Then That (IFTTT,) the popular automation service, will drop some of its support for Gmail by March 31. The decision comes as a response to security concerns and is aimed to protect user data, according to 9to5Google.
End of support means that users will no longer be able to leverage IFTTT in Gmail to automatically manage calendars, auto-save attachments, or create reminders. More technically, IFTTT is removing all Gmail triggers and the “create a draft” ability. Actions for ‘”send an email” and “send yourself an email” will remain in place. Concerned users can sign into the IFTT service to see which specific Gmail applets are impacted by the changes.
