I am trying out GesWall and noticed that when AdMuncher accesses the internet for updates there is no warning from GesWall. Is this supposed to happen? Or is there some way to restrict this?

Why are you expecting that GW should give you any warning? AdMuncher is trusted application.

they are mixing geswall and defencewall.
Applications monitored by geswall are listed in the console. Open the console and see the list.

No wonder you can't find it. You ask a question about Geswall and you get answers for Defensewall.

So, here the answer for Geswall:

All applications are trusted by default, except for the applications defined under Applications in Geswall Console with Security Level set to something else than Never Isolate.

Ok. So if a known app (by me, anyway) connects to the net I can assume it is a safe app according to GesWall?

As Henk said, all applications are trusted by GW except the one listen in console and the other marked with G on ur HD( files created by untrusted/ isolalted applications) etc.
