    Hi gery,
Just download it, and see for yourself. This is the best suite to date on my computer, very light, excellent detection, and very user friendly.:thumb:

I have purchased the A/V from Matt at Ultimate Internet Security, I would have to see if he can upgrade me? The firewall in the 2009 version was not my favorite, I have not seen the 2010 version.

G Data uses the same engine version as BD (11.0.0.24)
Strange: G Data uses a higher version (4.8.1344.0) of the avast engine than avast! 4.8 (4.8.1335.0)

I am trying it on a test computer of mine. Update downloads for me are terribly slow. Web browsing is extremely slow also. So much so I am considering removing the program altogether. There are no conflicts with anything else on my computer because it it really the only thing on this fresh install (XP - SP3). The plus side is it really is nice to look at and easy to use. I had Avira free, OA free and Drive Sentry on this computer prior and had no problems. I like GData but it seems to slow down my computer that has nothing on it.

    Hy guys!

I'm very happy with G DATA 2010 Internet Security but i have 1 question.

Where can i send malware samples that G DATA couldn't detect?

I asked this from G DATA support but they are very-very slow, i got an e-mail from them 2 weeks later!:thumbd: And i think they couldn't understand that i need just an e-mail address for the malwer samples, like AVG does(virus@avg.com).

So i have send the samples to Bitdefender and AVAST, 4 days ago. Still not an answer from Bitdefender(support@bitdefender.com) and Avast(virus@avast.com), G DATA still not detects it. I don't want to use another security software, i'm happy with G DATA, i just wanted to help them improve their detection.

In my own experience, they won't answer these kind of inquiries.
They'll just help you when you are in real trouble ;)

Either they (Avast & BD) don't consider your samples to be a legit threat or they just are slow at processing submissions.
AFAIK, GData does not have an email address for sending samples. Can anyone confirm?

It's about 40 files, 100% virus, i have send Avira and they analyzed it.

But now i checked with G DATA, and deleted 13 infected files.

I dont know if this is because i send to Bitdefender or Avast.

thanks for the tip, but i think it didn't work. no reply from them and G DATA still not detects 25 virus files.

I like Avira and Kaspersky support for this, you send them the undetected samples and the reply you with an answer a few minutes later. if it's really a malware then they include it in the next database update.

But unfortunately i like G DATA better:)

    Hi Narxis,
If you move found viruses to quarantine, you can send them to GData. I think they call it GData Ambulance. I really like GData too, but there support is unbelievable. I have sent four e-mails in the last nine days and never received a reply.

I complained about this during the beta too. GData has no provision to manually add files to quarantine.

So Narxis, better mail and wait.... and wait...

That's a shame on G DATA. A company must cooperate with users to fight against malware. I don't know how much it coasts to create a webpage to upload suspicious files(like a-squared) or create an e-mail address for the possible malwares(like Avira and Kaspersky).

Well i think i won't submit files to G DATA, just use their software.

    Hi Narxis,

send your samples as pw-protected archives (pw=infected) to rokopATgdata.de. Subject: Possible false negative

This is originally an contact address for members of the german rokop-security forum.

I´m sure your samples will be checked asap.

    Regards,
    Ford

    Hi Ford Prefect,

Thank you very much! I have send the samples as you said.

    I have 2 more questions.

    1. Is G DATA Total Care's PC tuning working on Vista x64?

    2. In G DATA 2009 there was a toolbar that installed in IE and Firefox. In G DATA 2010 there isn't such a toolbar. They removed that?

    Hi Narxis,

the tuning module works fine on x64.

The browser PlugIns are modified in 2010. You can add urls to a whitelist to exclude these urls from httpScanning.

You also can modify the whitelist using the main GUI.

The PugIns are not activated by default.

    IE: Toolbar-Menu > Check "G Data WebFilter"
FF: View > Toolbars > customize: drag the G Data icon and drop it in the toolbar region

    Regards,
    Ford
