Slight change of their GUI. I assume this early beta is available only in german, as always. Thanks for the heads up :thumb:

Thanks for posting! :thumb: I like the looks of the gui, looks to be pretty well laid out from what I can see. It's due for a change, imho.

We're only halfway through February of 2013 and already, someone is marketing a '2014' version.

    Pure G Data style ;)

Around next month I'd say, if they follow their previous years' trend..

New anti-virus technology means G DATA use its own G DATA engine to replace Avast engine.:D

Don't know if this is good or bad news...being that the Avast engine is so light on resources, I wonder how much of an impact the G Data engine will bring to the table. I don't plan on trying this until the English version is released, but I'm looking forward to taking it for a spin.

Is that official news (if so from what source) or are you just guessing? :)

I Googled the 2014 Beta after andylau posted this, and read about it on several European forums. On one of them, a user who was testing it mentioned seeing Bitdefender definitions for Engine A, and unknown definitions for Engine B. A couple of the other forums also mentioned G Data dropping Avast in favor of their own engine. I'd tend to believe it. There were also more screenshots of the new gui. I'll try to provide links to these sites later, if I have time, and if you would all like to see them. You'll have to translate them to whatever languages you'd need though.

Thanks. I guess time will tell if it's true or not. But from what you have read abou it so far it surely does sound like it's true :)

Has anyone tested it?:) Does it still give a UAC prompt when starting a context menu scan because I always use a standard user account?

Good Afternoon! Having used G-Data 2012 and 2013 I.S. editions. I'm merely concerned how their new engine will affect performance on my system...I currently have 2gigs of ram...and have mentioned in previous posts that G-Data needs anywhere from 4 to 8 gigs of ram...eliminating the Avast engine...which is one of the industry's lighter more ram friendly engines...will be a challenge for the developers at G-Data. Aside from this, the new Gui is a welcome sight. I still have additional time on my existing license...and in another month G-Data will more than likely release their new 2014 Edition,in conjunction with the Cebit Show in Hanover. Stay Tuned...Don't touch that Beta...Lol...Sincerely...Securon

    Wait what?
G-Data has a new in house engine?
I wonder how good it is.

Also wondering how good its own engine will perform.
Anyway like the interface quite better than prev vers.

I suspect that their new "own engine" will help to make it lighter than it is now. On the other hand, if their BD engine keeps scoring high as it's doing now, concerns on detection of their new engine will be merely anecdotal ;)
