    Hello

Need some help if i could - I use EagleGet Download Manager and am trying to get EagleGet to call an on demand scanner upon the completion of the download to scan the file. Just as a second opinion against my real time AV.

I need which application file to point to and the "command line" to call it. I've tried my resident AV - Avira and on demand Hitman Pro without success:(

I did get "Norman" to work fine but unfortunately, like Dr. Web, you need to download the entire program every time you want current signature updates and Norman size is 302 MBs

So if anyone could help pertaining to Avira and Hitman Pro - it would be appreciated :thumb:

And if anyone uses another free on demand scanner in the same way such as BitDefender, you could post those as well if you could.

    Thanks!!

    Emsisoft Emergency Kit
    VT Hash Check
    MultiHasher (has VirusTotal hash check)

    Hi

I'm not necessarily looking for free on demand scanners but which application file (in the on demand program install folder of say Avira or Hitman Pro or Bitdefender) Eagleget must point to and the antivirus "command line" needed for it to scan the completed download.

Edit: Norman worked fine without using the command line. But Avira and Hitman Pro did not work properly without it.

All you need is right here, dude.

I have used it in the past. There are probably several other products that have command line scanners available for download on their web sites as well. But this is the one I am familiar with. Although I do recall McAfee had a pretty good command line scanner functionality as well but not free.

Why not just use AV's that scan stuff on-access (avast!, Panda, AVIRA, AVG etc etc)? I'll never understand people who do on-demand scanning in year 2014...

First post indicates tobacco already has realtime AV and is looking for 2nd opinion.

Yes, that is correct as no AV solution is perfect.

I may not get to a download for hours, sometimes a few days so i would like the download scanned upon completion with a secondary program. I would use Hitman Pro since i already have it installed if someone could help me with the proper command line parameters. Or Bitdefender in on-demand mode if i knew the correct parameters.

The first two programs mentioned in post #3 can be used in the manner that you desire.

Ok - i'm trying Emsisoft Emergency Kit and have entered the EEK exe into Eagleget. When the download completes, the EEK gui opens but no scan is done. Must i enter something in the command line parameter o_O

Try using its command-line scanner. I believe it's named a2cmd.exe.

    Yes, Correct.

I did get it to work but not entirely the way i would like as the downloaded file is actually getting scanned "twice" because all files in the download folder get scanned as well. So if there are 3 files in the download folder prior to the new download, the scan log shows "5" files scanned.

    Here are my settings:

    Antivirus Executable: a2cmd.exe

    Command Line Parameters: a2cmd /f="c:\eaglegetdownloads\" /pup /a /q /log="c:\mydownloads\"

Interesting but i would prefer the process to be automated and since i no longer use Firefox, don't think that's possible with Chrome.
