Free firewall, what to choose?
Private Firewall, really like it
Comodo for me.
I'll choose between OA and comodo
Windows firewall would be just fine
I have a firewall in ESS 4 that I use , but if I have to choose it would be Comodo
Windows 7 FW + Hardware FW (= NAT/SPI Router).
Oops - I meant to select Comodo, along with PC Tools and Windows FW, but inadvertently checked Outpost by mistake.
WinFirewall + WinFirewall Control Free (Sphinx), I just got tired to apply specific rules (TCP, UDP, IP, DNS) to software needs, when in fact I allowed all it wanted anyway.
Ashampoo was really good.
Windows 7 firewall is what I am using now.
I'm keeping the free license for Ashampoo though. I plan on going back to it at some point in the near future.
Windows + Other(router)
I have two systems, I use Online Armor on my main system and Malware Defender on my other.
Why is Malware Defender not an option?
Windows 7 Firewall
I'm quite pleased with Online Armor 126.96.36.199.Free.
Currently running with HIPS features activated, plus all internet-facing applications are configured to RunSafer
("makes using an Administrator account safer by running user-selected programs as a Limited user when you are in an Administrator account").
I installed Windows Firewall Control free today after thinking about your post.
It's a nice program that I'll keep.
Was planning to use Comodo but just yesterday i tried it again and it STILL CONFLICTS WITH CHROME OMG
I've been waiting like 5 months for a fix
DefenseWall Personal Firewall 3.03 with Windows XP firewall.
Online Armor and Outpost firewall. Was about to choose Comodo but pop-ups and it's vague explantion of it made me consider OA/Outpost as more user friendly.
Router built-in firewall + Windows 7 Firewall.
Windows Firewall...that's going to change soon though.
Separate names with a comma.
