Interesting read but ironically when I went to the actual site in French, Norton safeweb classified it as Unsafe due to 1 threat (see below):

    Threats found: 1
    Here is a complete list:
    Threat Name: Trojan Horse
    Location: www3. malekal. com /pack/aaa2_load.

Note: I removed the executable extension on the location url.

hmmm........one or one thousand isn't the issue...it's about the simple fact that shouldn't one make use of all features of a product for which he has paid a packet or not.....? but that's OT and debatable :p

Actually, it's not rated, it's saying that it found 1 threat, etc.

Malekal.com is a forum to help people repair infected PCs. I do not speak English well enough to explain in detail but I will tell you that Malekal.com is a secure website that presents no danger.

It would be desirable that the person who proposed this subject can attend to translate and / or get in touch with Malekal so he can explain.

    Thank you

and why not? This test is somehow a response to another test appeared 2 years before in France. This test demonstrates (among others) than in the past Avast does not adequately protect a PC. Today it's different with version 5 of Avast and the development of other security software.

I said that Malik tests were performed for 1 month.

Sorry, didn't see that, I was going by the original Site Safety screen shot.

Anyway, I downloaded the file and uploaded it to Virustotal. 38/41 identified it as malware. Here's the ~ VirusTotal link removed per Policy ~ .

This website is totally safe, Mcafee and Norton classified this website as malicious because :

This website contain some MalwareTools like ComboFix.exe (direct link), and this tool can be considered as backdoor because it contains some features can be similar as malware.

The webmaster known this problem and ask to Mcafee to update database, but apparently still waiting for update.

Sorry it's difficult for me to explain that in english, and if Moderator think it's not good, so delete my post, but i repeat like "future" says, this site is for help people in security not to harm.

    Regards

I don't think the site is out there to harm and hopefully McAfee and Norton will remove the red flag (and certainly if it is based just on combofix as malware)

    Hi Rules,
Thank you for that comparative test you linked.
    Avast v 5 really improved.

According to WOT that forum is safe.

    http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/forum.malekal.com

Moreover both NOD32 and MalwareBytes' AntiMalware ip protection module didn't detect any infection.

    Cheers

If panda is based in a cloud technology why they need so much time to detect the samples? I still dont see any advantage in the cloud...

I think the problem may be the no. of users. Cloud wil be bigger with more users and there will be more detection.
