Free Antivir - MSNMessenger

    Does the free Antivir provide adequate protection for MSNMessenger?

    Avast has a separate module whilst Antivir has the Guard for everything.

    Antivir checks mails as they are opened, same with Messenger I assume.

    Yeah, there is no need to worry. AntiVir will check everything.

    I think Avast is better imho.. I love it I've settled for that i actually put back on TMIS and the pc was slow and things where acting up, Avast provides better then that did and its free so eve better..... I was browsing and it even came across a http trojan....even the heurstics are better Perfect...MD

    Avast doesn't have heuristic scanning capability. AntiVir has better detection
    rate and the realtime scanner will check everything from MSN messenger. So
    IMO AntiVir is the better choice. If the detection rate is not better, then
    having a seperate module for MSN messenger won't give you an edge.
