Foxit Reader

    Is the addon Foxit like having Adobe reader? but much lighter and faster? but not better?

    yes it is lighter and faster.
    i got rid of the bloated adobe reader and replaced it with foxit reader and never looked back

    Besides being smaller, lighter, and much faster; another bonus is that Foxit is completely portable.

    Which version is better to use?

    Foxit Reader 2.0 for U3 (.exe)

    or

    Foxit Reader 2.0 (.exe)


    also is it recomended for me to update my adobe reader from version 6 to 7?

    if you are gonna use foxitreader uninstall the crappy bloated adobe reader

    Same here. I've used Foxit Reader for quite a while, but at times it does have some problems with some of the newer PDF documents. There are some that won't open at all, and I have to use the actual Adobe program. I have noticed, however, that Adobe 8 opens much quicker for me than Adobe 7. Adobe 7 used to take forever, but the newest versions seems to open as fast as Foxit. I think part of the trick is not allowing the Adobe 8 installer to place all those programs in auto-start. I haven't even felt the need to get the speedup program.

    i only have foxitreader installed since i haven't had those problems but im bound to in the end.
    i just hate the adobe updater saying updates available and then saying install of updates failed do you want to retry and happens every time
