    Is there a problem with their community forum? I can see all my posts on there but cannot log in, password recover says my email address isn't recognised? I have one and it's been the same one for 11 years!
    Anyway, I bought a 2 device 2 years license last month as I had used Prevx for years in the past with no issues.
    After 40 minutes I noticed explorer was leaking memory to the sum of 330 meg and then found out this bug has been present for many months.
    They "cleverbridge" refuse refunds after the license has been registered by the way.
    The guy suggested I "buy RAM" as it's very cheap.. I have 8 and 16 gig.

    The question I was going to ask was can I give my license to someone without Windows 8.1 64 bit?
    Everything seems dodgy, I just noticed from my purchase email the download link stops working after 14 unless you pay for "extended download service"
    Can you not download from pretty much anywhere?

    So I would like to give my license to a guy a work.

    cheers

    I experienced this, in addition to outlandish CPU spikes (30-40%+) and had to remove WSA from my machines, and all of the ones I handle that had WSA. I'd love to help them resolve it but cannot devote the time to beta testing, or digging deep into it at the moment. I needed a rock solid, fire and forget solution without bugs, and WSA unfortunately, wasn't it. I ended up selling all of the extra unactivated licenses on Ebay.

    This problem seems pretty old;

    but what confuses me;

    and then;

    o_O o_O

    I also gave away activated licenses to others. The download link for the product is here;

    You don't need to use the extended download service (all of the downloads come from the same place) and if you aren't using a license key, you can give it away without us blocking anything as long as the key isn't using more devices than it's allotted. If you've registered a console account, you should ensure the credentials are changed.

    However, as I've mentioned in the other thread, the Explorer RAM issue will not affect your system performance: Explorer is using paged memory and only when it is not being requested from other processes so it will have no system performance impact, even if you only have 1GB of overall system RAM.

    Priorities change all the time and we have a number of strategic projects we're working on which are wider reaching than this, especially considering it will not impact system performance.

    We're not looking for help "digging deep" or devoting time to beta testing, all I need is a scan log from a fresh install to get some idea - it should take less than five minutes end to end. This is probably the 10th post you've made about this issue and in the time spent posting, we could have solved it.

    Thanks for the quick reply. Forum gives me 'unknown' errors when I press send or save, maybe because I block cookies.
    I know it doesn't effect performance and Windows will claim the memory back but both my PCs nd on all day and it's a pretty bad memory leak whichever way you look at it. Your own software even labels it such.

    You could contact them via email at: communitysupport[at]webroot.com, or use the automated messaging system on RH side here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Home/ct-p/consumer

    I think you would need to accept cookies to sign-in, if I'm not mistaken.

    cheers, I did raise a ticket but got a pre written reply. There's an add on E-bay for gamer version which says "If not happy get a full refund"

    Well good luck with that :)

    If I'm correct here you had this issue on a single test PC & were asked to give a simple scan log, the thread deteriorated into issues of the various free email providers & you never did provide a log? Personally I do doubt your truthfulness as you have now given away your licenses I doubt we shall hear from you again? :argh:

    You take your chances on ebay if the price is so low it's to good to be true then you have to think about that.

    There was an add for Gamer addition stating there was a money back offer. Don't worry I shall not be buying any more licenses, 2 unusable is quite enough.
    I don't mean to be rude I follow a lot of your posts and you're probably the most helpful person I have ever seen in any forum.
    You do a great job!

    How can that be rude that's a very nice comment and it's much appreciated and yes I like helping users on many Forums! So you're having issues logging in at the community I'm sure the Webroot staff will sort it out tomorrow if not send me your username & email address via PM and I can help you get it sorted! And the reason I said what I said about ebay some users got burnt and I hate to see anyone else be another victim.

    Cheers,

    TH ;)

    I get censored when I say anything, but he is still allowed to incessantly troll on every product on this forum.

    Pointing out two conflicting statements is a troll?

    If that's the case, I've overstayed my welcome. Little desire to be censored here for stating facts, and pointing out the obvious. Typical forum though, which is why I try to avoid them save for a few professional industry based ones.

    I think the point is that you have, so far, provided mainly anecdotal evidence dressed up with all sort of excuses for not been able to provide more.
    Now your anecdotal evidence has magically transformed into undisputed facts. Please come back when you will be able to provide logs otherwise its looks like you have an hidden agenda to discredit the product instead of a genuine intention to make it better. :)

    I in fact thought, as a keen amateur ;), that it was normal and axiomatic, especially amongst professionals and security experts, that clear evidence of claims is readily and promptly provided, with the objective of helping users and vendors alike.
    What has really puzzled me in this case is how an apparent security expert could purchase e.g. ~50 licenses, and install about 40 of them on clients' machines, without first testing say 5 or 6 on various OSs/scenarios.
    Also, to apparently just quit on everything, after around a month, without trying to resolve in any meaningful way, just stinks to high heaven.

    Just my dos centavos...
