    Hi,

    http://www.fortresslinux.org/home.php

I've planed a few months ago a guest article on Mrk site about security focused OS, and Fortress was one of the distro that i wished to talk about.
Article that will be sent for publication this week to dedoimedo:

The main dev. of this projects is aware of most linux insecurities issues according to the two mails exchanged two or three months ago.
Security and Privacy are the main advantages of this distro, even if general features are included (docs and multimedia).
Several distributions will be released, even an USB one, but currently only the small starter and Pro ones are available for mail subscribers:

The VPN service is cuurently "over occupied".

Feedbacks will be higly appreciated bt Palatinux and his team.

The Starter Edition Free does not include a GUI (Desktop Environment), so you will have to install that for yourself.

The Pro version costs 49,95 euros:

The only thing available right now for public use is the Starter Edition.
The developer is hashing out the license and insurance requirements for public consumption. Once this is settled the Pro Edition can be purchased and the Starter edition will have a GUI.

If you are going to trial the Starter Edition you will need to compile your own GUI. Open Box and Gnome is what the developer will implement when it's all straightened out. No Repositories are available for public use until licensing and insurance issues are settled.

Looks great. I may purchase once it's done. I like the anti-cold boot and duress password features.
