Motorola phones have given me nothing but trouble. I don't know why so many people like them.

They were quite good a few years ago before Android but in the last few years they have been lacking. They keep relaunching the same thing with minor improvements.

Prior to Android phones, there were charging problems with some models.

We'll see if the made in the US phones will be any better quality wise.
The big story here is this is the first smart phone made in the US.

honestly even if the quality is the same imo it would be great im hoping they didnt skimp to far on the overall end result. and being a first for something like this to happen i am hoping they dont have a slew of defects the first time out. although flextronics is a good manufacture imo overall.

I am not sure why media is creating so much hype for a phone with mid range specifications. Media is the power today.

    This!
I agree completely with you. Specs are not everything but this thing has absolutely nothing impressive. Specs, design, materials, hardware, camera . . . nothing outstanding, NOTHING!!

Again, you folks are missing the story:
" expects to employ 2,000 workers there by late summer."
Get it? The 2000 people who will be getting paychecks do!

Yes very good indeed of course, but they also need to sell loads of the phones they manufacture, right?

That,s not the point. I was not talking in reference to this thread only. I was talking in general about the hype created by media for a phone which has nothing special in it. Media never hyped it for the reason that it,s US made.

I can't believe it costs $199 to purchase this phone on a two year plan with AT&T. This astounds me.

Here in Australia if we get premium smart phones e.g. the S4 or iPhone 5 for zero upfront cost if we go on a plan.
