format C help

    hi, i want to format and completely reinstall XP from the CD. ive taken a picture where it says fomat C - can i click it and the C drive will be wiped? thanks

    Hi iceni60,

    No. You should format it after booting from the XP CD. If you try it from that menu option, you will get an error message.

    No you can not format the OS Partition, as it will say it is in use.

    You can do it all with the Installation OS-CD.

    OK thanks. i'll probably do it now. this is the first time in ages that ive been tired at 8 O'clock. and i need to stay awake for 2-3 hours :rolleyes: thanks. :)

    thanks, NIck. im so tired i thought both posts where by TheQuest. i made a copy of my C drive that i was going to keep. but i think i'll delete them both (C&D drives) and make two partitions during the install. thanks for the help.

    Your right, is is not the reformatting and Installation that take the time, but or the software and updates.

    every time you write iceni60 the spelling gets worse and worse :D
