Hi stapp - ok this is the basic idea I've got for your seahorse.

Still needs some refinement & animation needs smoothing. So before I finalise the design - is this the sort of thing you wanted ? There is another variation with the horse moving from left to right - I can't seem to upload it in this thread at the moment.

This is the first draft of the moving sea-horse version - yet again it needs smoothing & finalising.:-

    Eyes,
That is really very good , I particularly like the sea colour and the bubble effect. The first leaf on left sort of prevents full few initially of the movement, although you don't have the leaf there in the static one.

    Hi stapp,

Now that I know you like the general idea - I'll do a few variations for ya. It'll probably be a few days - gotta fit it into real life.

    :)

I've really been surprised Nat, at the level of expertise shown by some people, not just with avatars but other things as well (esp. Mrs BB's smilies!)

Now going to post yet another " how do I do " post. I'll climb up the rungs of forum knowhow slow but sure.

To the 'Wilders society of wonderful & wacky women.'

You're all very sweet - but I didn't draw the actual seahorse, I just extracted it from somewhere, shrunk it and made it fit for use....:)

    @ Eldar

Funny how some pedestals look like scaffolds when you're standing on 'em hehe.....http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons6/42.gif..... ;)

    Hi Stapp:

Ask away, that is one of the reasons I dig this place so much. You will always find individuals who are knowledgeable and willing to share what they know. This is how I have learned also, and I have been messing around with computers in some way or another since the early 1970's.

    Thanks
    Wildman

Stapp - this one is a little smoother, the right size and includes some animation of the seaweed as well.

Any thoughts about how it can be improved upon ?

Thanks for the input Eric. Looking at it posted here - I can see it's going very wrong on the right hand side.

It's way too busy - I'd added the purple weed to add some depth/perspective. but when reduced to this scale it's too much - and you're right, as a result the seahorse is getting lost - also I think the tracking of the seahorse has also gone wrong - it dips too deeply towards the end and yet again it weakens it.

It's all fixable tho' - but not tonight.

    catch ya on the flipside
    Andy:)

    You're welcome Andy. ;)
Although it's not too bad either. Especially like the little bubbles which should be kept.
Made a transparent PNG of a seahorse which stands out more, so I hope you can use it. :)

    Hey Andy,

I think that avatar looks great! I also love the bubbles.
I do think Eric's seahorse would stand out more, though.

:D Just to add my two cents! It looks dang good to me! If ya can improve upon it, that would be even more spectacular, but it ain't to bad as it is.

    Thanks

Okay, with the original seahorse I've decided to go for the clean & simple look. Stapp let me know if this works for ya.

@ Wildman thanks for your kind words - it's getting a bit embarrassing as I know it doesn't signify any real skill on my part, only that I'm probably avoiding doing something else I should be doing hehe.....;)

@ Eric & Beetleboss et al

Now I've been given me a new seahorse to work with (thanks Eric :thumb:) - are we best off taking it over to Graphics Playground to play with ? Maybe do a group thing ?

Edit: stapp I've updated the image one final time to make some last minute improvements. I think this is about right now ?

Eyes, I think you have captured the essence of the seahorse.

    It's great!!!

With my giraffes and seahorse what could be nicer.

    Thank you so much.

You're welcome stapp. As long as it works for you it was worthwhile. :)

Please don't feel awkward when you want to swap it out for something else. I can't keep the same desktop theme for more than a week or 2. So I'll understand.

    @ Nat

You do know how to stoke an ego ...... I swear for a minute mine was actually bigger than me 'umble...... fair makes us traditional English types panic.....thanks sweety ;)

    cheers all :thumb:

    removed after some time.
Glad I could provide you a nice looking seahorse. (TuxPaint) :D
