For Admin - Would this feature be possible?

Hi Paul & Mike,

I was wondering if this could be a possible forum feature.

While selecting to reading a thread ... You have the option of reading the thread from its beginning or choosing to read the last post made. Would it be possible to have another option or modifing the later ... where the first unread post in the thread would be displayed, using a modified version of the cookie that tracks unread/read posts? Or is this simply not possible or overly complicated?

I thought we had that already unless I totally don't understand your question, which is totally possible.

 

To clarify a little.

See attachment:

#1 - Displays from the beginning/start of the thread.

#2 - Displays the last post.

The feature mention is ... to be able to read the last unread post in the given thread for the given user.

ie. The thread contains 18 posts ... The user has viewed post # 1 thru 14 ... could this new feature, or a modified version of #2 pictured, display post #15 for the given user. Utilizing the current cookie that maintains the unread/read data.

There is a "View First Unread" button on the first post in each sub-forum.
