Folder 8f1f9

I have discovered a folder in my C drive named 8f1f9. I have no idea what this is or where it came from. I am unable to open any of the files in this folder even though it would appear to be files that could be opened. Files such as wave, gift, htm and text. I am hesitant to delete the folder in case it is something needed by one of my programs. None of my security programs, symantec, AVG Spyware, TrendMicro Anti-Sypware, SnoopFree or any of the on-line scanners A-Squared, BitDefender, or ESS indicates anything wrong with the folder. Anyone have any idea as to what this is? As always any replies would be very much appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
