Just got a new Asus 1000HE netbook.
Want to replace 160GB HDD with a Seagate 320GB/7200.
I formatted flash to FAT32, then via AHI-11 using "Create Bootable Rescue Media"created the Boot drive. Operation ended successful. I tested it on my desk top and Boot Flash Drive was detected and loaded. But when I put it in my Asus 1000HE and change boot order to "USB device" (1st) it does NOT detect Flash drive. Under a NORMAL windows boot, 1000HE does see the Boot Flash drive and it related files. Any idea what I'm doing wrong in 1000HE/Bios that it does NOT see Flash Boot Drive.
I will only be on line another 15 minutes, then I must go to work. Back on line about 4:30am Saturday.
    Thanks

    Hello Dennis,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

I suppose it will be better to contact the appropriate technical support. It appears that the issue is related to the laptop malfunction.

    Thank you.

    Re: FlashDrive Boot fails - Asus 1000HE - ATI-11

Thank you Acronis for your interest.
Made some progress, 1000HE now detects flash drive at boot.
Unfortunately, I get the following error message ...
    Background information.
    Using the following ..........
Kingston Flash Drive - Model - DataTraveler 16GB
    Acronis True Image 11 - #8101
    Acronis Disk Director 10 - #2160

I have reformatted flash drive (FAT32-both attempts), tried ADD-10 and ATI-11 (last update July 2008 ) to create bootable Rescue Flash Drive. Both default to the same error message.

    Thank you
    Dennis L

    Hello MudCrab and Dennis,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

Dennis, the guide provided by MudCrab should help. Were you able to boot from USB stick?

    Thank you.
