herbalist (aka someone else around here  ) had a link to a Win98 "support" website, but i can't seem to find it or search with his name - name no longer exists.

AFAIK, there is no universal driver for Win 98 and USB flash drives. Each maker had their own driver. If the maker of your drive doesn't list one, I'm thinking you are out of luck...

Canyon used to have Win98SE drivers for their flash drives on their site, I don't know if its still the case.

Thanks, everyone, for the tips. My friend was given a PNY flash drive and was able to get a driver from the vendor. I was glad to see from your links that many vendors still support Win98, and I have passed this information on to others.

You would be surprised at how many people use Win98. I remember it as very reliable, and *very* easy to secure!

Not everyone has the need for the features of newer Operating Systems. When the OS satisfies the uses of a person, she/he is not inclined to change.
